Battle of the Books 2017-2018

BATTLE OF THE BOOKS COMPETITIONS
WHERE: DeQueen-Mena Educational Cooperative in Gillham, AR (about 10 minutes north of DeQueen)
WHEN: March 14, 2018 for 5th/6th grade competitions (Wednesday)
March 15, 2018 for 3rd/4th grade competitions (Thursday)
WHO: 4th grade teams: Madilyn Brinkman, Jamison McIntosh, Sofia McCauley, Connor Crabtree
Cassie Stephenson, Josie Clark, Kady Hupp, Cami Porter
5th grade teams: Ryley Harrison, Colton Melson, Jacee Martin, Laney Gitchell
Norberto Garcia, Brady Dixon, Wilfred Boyer, Sam Carter
6th grade teams: Taytum Harberson, Abby Furr, Emmie Gregory, Kamryn Holland
Karol Sanchez, Caleb Cook, Gavin Bostic, Aiden Watts
WHAT: Students will need to be at school on time the day of competition. We will go by school bus. Students need to bring a lunch or let me know if they need a lunch from the cafeteria. Students need to be ready to answer questions about the books they have read. Each question that is asked will be answered by a team member with the title and author of the book.
EXTRA: Students may bring electronics, backpacks, books, etc... They may want to use the things they bring while riding to and from the competition and during breaks between competitions. Students will be responsible for keeping up with and taking care of anything they bring.
Example: Question: In what book does a girl live on her own and learn to survive?
Student Answer: Island of the Blue Dolphins / O'Dell
(Always give the title first, then the author's last name.)
IMPORTANT!: TEAM MEMBERS MUST BRING A SIGNED PERMISSION SLIP BY THE MORNING OF THE COMPETITION TO BE ALLOWED TO GO ON THE TRIP.
